\u00ab\u00a0Ever since its inception, the Maurice Andr\u00e9 International Trumpet Competition has borne more than just a name: it embodies a standard, a vision of music, and a profoundly human and artistic legacy, which was of paramount importance to our father.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, his heirs, Nicolas Andr\u00e9 and B\u00e9atrice Andr\u00e9, both involved in the music world, continue this mission with fidelity and responsibility. Invested in the life of the competition \u2013 notably through Nicolas Andr\u00e9's participation as a jury member \u2013 they ensure the preservation of the spirit and standards that have always guided this great institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the question of bringing the competition back to life arose, it was on Ibrahim Maalouf's initiative, and following his discussions with Nicolas and B\u00e9atrice Andr\u00e9, that the project took shape. This approach, driven by a sincere desire for transmission and renewal, immediately found a favourable response within our family.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish to state clearly that this revival of the Maurice Andr\u00e9 International Trumpet Competition is being done with the full and complete agreement of his heirs, who are now fully partners. This project is based on close collaboration between Nicolas Andr\u00e9, B\u00e9atrice Andr\u00e9, and Ibrahim Maalouf, united by the same artistic and human vision.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ibrahim is not only the internationally renowned artist that the general public knows today. He is also a musician deeply rooted in the classical trumpet tradition, trained at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique de Paris under Antoine Cur\u00e9, after beginning his studies with G\u00e9rard Boulanger. His excellent achievements, his pedagogical commitment and his dedication to passing on his knowledge make him a legitimate and deeply committed figure in this renaissance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also remember that he himself was recognised in one of the last editions of the competition, in 2003, thus marking a strong and symbolic link with this institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond individual journeys, this competition today brings together renowned trumpeters, who will form an excellent jury and support the candidates with demanding care and kindness. More than ever, it serves as an essential stepping stone for the younger generations of trumpeters, who are destined to become the great artists of tomorrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this story is also profoundly human. The link between our families goes back several decades, when Maurice Andr\u00e9 played a crucial role in the journey of Nassim Maalouf, Ibrahim\u2019s father. From his studies in France to his research on the quarter-tone trumpet, to the support provided during the most difficult moments of the Lebanese civil war, this relationship has been marked by solidarity, the passing on of knowledge, and friendship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is this artistic and human lineage that finds new expression today in the renaissance of the competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are deeply admire Ibrahim Maalouf's commitment, alongside Nicolas and B\u00e9atrice Andr\u00e9, to reviving this competition \u2014 a rare artistic, human, and financial commitment, in service of a demanding and generous vision.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know that our father would have been touched by this approach, this collaboration, and this desire to keep alive, together, a legacy that was so dear to him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To bring the Maurice Andr\u00e9 International Trumpet Competition back to life is to prolong a history, affirm a continuity, and offer future generations a framework of excellence where the talents of tomorrow can blossom.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb
